Danielle Baron, SW intern
Danielle Baron is currently pursuing an MSW at Columbia University where she is specializing in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training program under Andre Ivanoff, Ph.D. Danielle holds the position of Social Work Intern at BHBA, where she co-leads DBT skills classes, provides individual DBT sessions, is a member of BHBA’s adherent DBT weekly consultation team and participates in didactics and supervision.
Previously Danielle received her BS in Psychology from New York University College of Arts and Sciences along with a minor in Hebrew and Judaic Studies. Danielle has a wealth of clinical experience ranging from leading group psychotherapy sessions at FEGS Bronx Pros, an outpatient mental health facility, as well as performing intakes and assessments as a counselor at The Door. Most recently, Danielle interned as a school social worker at Frederick Douglass Academy II, in Harlem, NY where she provided one-on-one counseling and psychotherapy to High School students.
When Danielle is not actively engaged with her academic and professional pursuits she can be found doing yoga, dancing, or browsing in a bookstore. Danielle is also a passionate outdoor traveler, having recently backpacked through Patagonia and canoed the Boundary Waters, two experiences that deepened her mindfulness and meditative practices.
