TRAUMA-FOCUSED COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy adapted from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. TF-CBT aims to address the needs of individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder and other difficulties related to traumatic life events. TF-CBT helps participants address distorted or upsetting beliefs and attributions, as well as learn skills to help them cope with ordinary life stressors. For children and adolescent clients, TF-CBT also employs a caregiver component that helps caregivers develop skills that support their children.
