ELENA OSTROY, PHD, ABN

Dr. Ostroy is a licensed psychologist and a board-certified neuropsychologist with nearly two decades of experience in evaluating and treating children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of psychological and neurological conditions. She joins BHBA as the new patient intake coordinator for children and adolescent treatment and will also supervise our psychology graduate student.

Dr. Ostroy obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology and completed post-doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology. Having worked  in a variety of clinical settings, she has gained expertise working with clients across the life span with a wide array of conditions, including ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, learning disabilities, brain injuries and concussions, and various conditions affecting the central nervous system, ranging from developmental delays to dementias.

Dr. Ostroy's prior work experience includes working with preschoolers experiencing developmental delays, providing evaluation and treatment services to children with ADHD at the NYU Child Study Center, and several years as senior supervising neuropsychologist at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn while holding a faculty appointment at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Currently, in addition to her work at BHBA, she also sees patients in her private practice specializing in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations of children and adults.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Ostroy has taught and supervised graduate and medical students, interns, and postdoctoral trainees throughout her career. Dr. Ostroy has always strived to stay informed of the new developments in research and clinical practice in the field, presenting at national neuropsychology conferences and participating in clinical research.
